We are a team of passionate people who thrive on assisting our patients to receive the best care. Our practice was founded in 1989 and between us we have over 70 years of experience.
From the time you walk into our practice we will be with you every step of the way. Your prosthesis will be manufactured by the most skilful and dedicated ocularists.

The pleasure of helping another attain not only their dignity and self -esteem but live a happy and full life by applying a lifetime of skill attained through passion and dedication is what drives me.
Seeking out the best fitting techniques, each a complete new challenge and using the latest technology from regular visits abroad to fellow Ocularists and conferences allows for the best results. Working alongside my partner, Danie, and now my daughters, Liezl & Chiara, and backed by friendly, super-efficient and accommodating Sharon on the front-line, the patient enters a world of comfort and satisfaction, whether coming for a first time visit or a repeat.
The Great Outdoors, onTerra Firma and under the Ocean, travelling to new destinations, on this beautiful planet gives me inspiration.
Danie Van der Linde
Ocularist
I enjoy working with people, striving for the almost impossible perfection in my results. Problem solving when it comes to post enucleation socket syndrome related issues attribute to the above.
When not at work I enjoy the great outdoors with a keen interest in birds and photography.
Liezl Van der Linde
Ocularist
I view it as a privilege to be working in the line of helping people so I strive to give the very best of myself in my work. It is fantastic being part of a team that is so committed to customer care.
I am especially fond of working with children, and am part-running the clinic for Ocular Prosthetics at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
I enjoy running in my free time.
Chiara van der Linde

As the newest member of the team, I am excited to begin my journey in Ocularistry and being part of a profession that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
I am passionate about helping patients regain their confidence and quality of life and I feel privileged to work alongside a team that is committed to building strong patient relationships while continually staying up to date with the latest techniques and advancements in the field.
I love being active and preferably outdoors when not in the office.
Sharon Hirst

I have been working with Vida and Danie for over 20 years. I am very passionate about my work and helping our patients.
My aim with every patient is to assist them as much as possible so that they are comfortable and relaxed at our practice.
Walking and camping are my places to be when not at work.
